Rice, Choi Sum and black mushrooms, Singaporean Fried Noodles. Now we're talking.

Don't get me wrong. My family loves discovering all kinds of food. But, comfort food always has it's place. We ate at this place twice during our recent 9 days in London. It is close to Paddington Station and was around the corner from our hotel.

The owners and staff don't speak english well. But, the best I could tell one side is primarily the Korean side and the other side is the Chinese side. Non-Koreans are automatically seated on the Chinese side. We went with the flow since Chinese was fine with us. (They were probably right to assume that most Europeans and Americans are not familiar with Korean food. They had no way of knowing that we would enjoy the Korean Menu also.)

The food was great. One of the dishes we always ask for at a Chinese Restaurant is Singaporean Fried Noodles. Wasn't on the menu but they nailed it. 4 strong stars on the food. Very satisfying. Excellent value.

Stainless steel chopsticks in a Chinese Restaurant? My wife had to know about these. The waitress said that you can only buy stainless steel chopsticks in Korea. It's a Korean thing.

Later we found some at Shirokiya's and my wife now has a complete set.

    Casual
    Beer and wine
    moderately priced
    Quiet and understated location
    Excellent service
Very close to Paddington and the Hospital

    Hey peeps!
So we walked past this resto every night because we would stop at superSave market next door every night. I thought oh wouldn't it be cool to get some korean Chinese food and support them. BIG mistake. Like big area giant "can't believe I went there tonight" mistake. All dishes came in mini take Away containers. Ugh I should have known this would be bad!

First off we come from from
An area with kick a$$ chinese and korean food. So... their dishes were mediocre. The S8 (usually known as yugaejang) or spicy beef soup, was just ok, and didn't come with an order of rice. That should have been my warning sign to run. For real.
We also ordered an udon and my ideal wouldn't eat it because the shrimp w-/ "bad" and noodles funky. This dish was was $ but I get they had frozen seafood in there so they had to raise the price). Another loser dish.
    The bibambap was also lacking........

I think what turned me off was the fact that they didn't speak korean (when i tried to verify what soup I was ordering was actually yugaejang) and they did fully ignored my daughter when she tried to say thank you several times in mandarin (which j thought they understood but maybe they don't understand Korean or Chinese...... for a chinese korean resto)

All in all the service was mediocre and the food overpriced go to the the KFC or Lebanese or curry house instead in this neighborhood . Service had too. Why ask why

Very mediocre Korean food. No small sides (banchan) with Korean food (as is customary). They added a sly 12% "service charge" with no notice. They have a front dining room and a back dining room that is clearly reserved for Far Eastern Asians. On multiple occasions, non Asian customers came in and were turned away as the front room was full. However, a minute later a group of Asians came in without a reservation and they were immediately shown to the back room. This happened multiple times in the 45 minutes that I was there.

Only tried the Chinese foods here. Food was average. Service was blah...I'm not sure why.. Food came out one dish at a time...that's not how we do family style Chinese food.
Avoid the mushroom chicken soup-taste like instant broth with few pieces of mini shredded chicken and mushroom.
I was planning to try Korean dishes at another time, but after this experience, I rather check out other places.
